At the end of December 2009, I decided to make this blog all about me personally. More about my own life. Its about providing me a place to help work through my own depression and the things happening in my life.

As such, I really wanted another place that I could use to post all my geeky comments, technical jargon filed posts, reviews, tutorials and the like. And thus is born Steves Geek Speak.

There isn’t a lot to say about it other than a lot of the posts that would bore most people will now be posted there. Steves Ramblings is now all about me.

Calling Steves Geek Speak technical isn’t quite accurate. There will be some things that are quite geeky in nature, but I will try to keep the language as friendly as possible to those not entirely familiar with the topics. While the site will be open for comments and discussion, like this site has always been, its really more about scratching my own itch than inducing feedback. Its all welcome, but I’m going to post with or with out it ;-)

As was the case here, there really isn’t any specific focus to the blog. It will essentially be most things that catch my eye. And given most things that catch my eye are geeky/technical in nature, I went with that name and meme. No politics. Very little general news. Some economics but I doubt I’d be very good at posting about that given I struggle to manage my own money, far less be anything near an economist.

By creating a separate blog for that kind of discussion and those sorts of topics, it frees up this blog entirely.

So hopefully this will help improve things for the blog and keep things a lot more relaxed around here. I know a lot of you have really been turned off by all the technical commentary I’ve spouted over the years.

If you have suggestions, or ideas on how I can improve things further, please let me know. I’m willing to listen to anything. :-)
