Sunset on a good day

∞ Posted at 6:54 pm

I took my own advice today and went and bought as many bonds as I could afford.

I am also going to start putting a set amount of money into Bonds every month as a way of building up some savings without actually having to worry about spending it. See, the simple problem I have with savings accounts is that I can still spend that money. So if I take that money and instead put it into bonds, then I can’t spend it quite as easily. I actually have to go fill out forms and request the money.

This way I save myself some money and am in a position to be able to recover that money at a later point should I need to. But because its not so simple as just going to the bank and withdrawing it, and because its not so simple as just going and using a card at an ATM machine, I’m in a position to finally save for once in my life. And if I keep dumping money into bonds every month, then I keep growing that savings.

Its such a beautiful night tonight. So I loaded up Qik on my phone and went out front to take a short little video of it.

Taken at about 7:30pm, 21 October, 2008.

So not only was it a beautiful day, it ended up being a really good day too.
