So I’m in a new guild in Age of Conan. It’d been so long since I played it at all, that the last guild booted me out for inactivity. Fair enough I guess. Work and life has come first lately.

This new guild approached me because apparently I was pumping pretty high DPS rates as a ranger, even for my level, and they thought they’d have a place for me. Most importantly, they are a mature, casual guild so they don’t mind if I’m absent, as long as its not too long.

Anyway, I kind of prefer “mature” guilds, especially in AoC where nudity is pretty easy to find (especially in Tortage where the newbies tend to make female toons as their first characters, then run naked through the first 10 levels.) It wears off pretty quickly and people generally tend to settle down to business and start working their way into the story pretty rapidly.

Of course, maturity doesn’t mean not having any fun. :-) For example, take this conversation.

You ever been in bed with an OCD girl?

You ever been in bed with an OCD girl?

Some days, you just have to wonder ;-)

Its good to be playing again. I have to admit I’ve kind of missed playing games. I’ve been so busy with work, or too sick, to be able to spend any real time playing games. While my machine isn’t really up to par to be able to play Age of Conan properly (sometimes my frame rate drops so low I wait a long time before my death is even displayed on the screen) its still a lot of fun to play and a lot of fun to go kicking butt. And the game is freaking huge too. Not quite as big as Guild Wars, but getting there.

I won’t have a PC that can handle playing the game properly for a while yet, in fact, probably not till next year or even later. Right now, my priority is really on getting my health sorted out, my work back on track and getting myself over to the US as soon as possible. (My tickets for going back again this year are already booked.) So for that reason, unless there is a massive winfall of money just landing in my lap sometime soon, I’ll just stick with enjoying the slow go aspects of the game. ;-)

Then again, Tim did get my folks a cheap computer that would handle Conan a little better. Not at full res, but better than what I got at the moment. ;-)
