The time changes are a little harsh. Now that I’m working during the day and 5 days out of 7, I don’t get the time off like I used to when I was working Security to spend with Brooke. When doing the security, I’d work 7 days, get 7 off (with a day shift in the middle there) and that allowed me decent time with Brooke during the NZ winter.

Today I tried to get out of the office as fast as I could, but I got cornered by one of the sales guys to do a job for him before I left, then I got asked to help out one of the techs working on a problem with Cisco gear that they’re not familiar with. So I didn’t leave the office till well after 5:15pm, getting closer to 5:30pm.

Unfortunately, by the time I got home, Brooke was so exhausted we didn’t really get a chance to talk. Its not her fault, its ultimately mine. I just wish I could have avoided the guys at work and gotten out of there as early as possible.

There is one side effect though. I’m bored in the evenings. I have no idea what to do with myself. So I’ve been doing a lot of work on my own time. Until this past weekend.

This past weekend Brooke had scheduled some time to go to Archivers and work on some of her books, so I figured I’d take that time to play some Guild Wars. It was the Third Anniversary Celebrations for Guild Wars and its been so long since I spent time playing it that I thought I’d have some fun and go check it out.

The celebrations weren’t really all that great, but it did get a LOT of people back playing Prophecies which finally gave me the chance to finish off the Prophecies main storyline! :-) So now, my original character, the big dude that kicks heavy butt with his axe, has finally finished Prophecies. :-) It only took me about 265 hours over 3 years to do it, but its finally done. :-) In theory, I could have done it in about 30 to 40 hours if I were in a guild, but I’ve always played solo. No reason other than its really difficult to find a casual PvE guild that plays on NZ/Au time.

So now I find myself in a bit of a bind. Do I finish Nightfall or do I finally make an effort to at least start Factions. I have to be honest and say that Factions never really got my attention. It was a much faster story, but the story itself didn’t really grab me.

Nightfall, on the other hand, has a pretty good story and really does take the best of both the previous campaigns, but the truth is, I really only play it because I really enjoy my Dervish.

Argh! Maybe I’ll just do what I have been doing for ages when I have played and carry on with my original Prophecies character up in the Eye of the North areas. Eye of the North has so much new content spread across so many differing areas, its never boring and you can easily move on to other areas if one is getting too tedious for you.

Then again, I might carry on finishing off my Cartographers title track in Prophecies and take that character over to Factions, then Nightfall. Who knows. Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Right now, its after 10pm and I’m going to bed. Have a good one folks.
