Well folks, thats it for a few days again. Back to the grind a night early.

The past short period of time off has given me a bit of a chance to reflect on some things. I think its very fair to say that as much as I enjoy the security work, its definitely time to move on. The work is great, but the hours really suck. By the end of 7 or 8 straight days of work, I’m totally exhausted and shattered. The hours leave me no time to spend with friends and family and the people I love. That really is starting to be an issue.

So I’ve now sent my CV off to two companies. One and IT company, and the other a media company. I know I swore I’d never go back to IT, but the simple truth is, thats what I was always good at, and the only thing I can do that will earn me enough money to live while at the same time providing me with time to spend with those I care about.

So back to the grindstone for another 9 days of work starting today. Back to the extreme lack of sleep and the extreme discomfort of staying awake driving for 13+ hours a night. Back to the boredom of sitting in traffic for 3 hours a day just to get to and from work.
