Judge Orders Man Not to Have Girlfriend
Okay, this is just… Different. In light of recent months, I can actually understand how this might happen.
A judge has ruled that a 24-year-old Canadian man is not allowed to have a girlfriend for the next three years.
The ruling came after Steven Cranley pleaded guilty on Tuesday to several charges stemming from an assault on a former girlfriend.
Cranley, who has been diagnosed with a dependent personality disorder, attacked his girlfriend in an argument after their breakup.
He tried to prevent her from phoning the police by cutting her phone cord and punched and kicked her. He finally stabbed himself with a butcher knife when police did arrive, puncturing his aorta.
Ouch, that had to hurt. But what is surprising is that the judge has ruled that the 140 odd days he’s spent in jail so far are enough. However, he’s now under court order to not get involved in any romance for the next 3 years. The theory being that this should be enough time for him to get the help he needs.
Fortunately for him, RealDolls are not likely to leave him. ;-) Nor is he likely to become dependent on them. ;-)
Speaking of which… Did anyone see that thing on TV about sex dolls the other night? I think it was on 60 Minutes or possibly Sunday. Can’t remember. I was too busy rushing around getting ready for work that I didn’t really pay too much attention to the advertisement.
