New Job Position
As most of you know, I’ve been working for a security company for the past few months as a security guard. Till now its been a rather informal affair that has allowed me to pay the bills and so on, without using up too many hours of the week on things like work. ;-)
Now thats about to change.
Starting Monday this week I will be working over the next few weeks as a shift senior during the day. These will be 12 hour shifts during the day at a site in Glenfield.
In a few weeks time I will be moving to a shift senior for the night patrols and these will be even tougher hours. 18:00 till 06:30 8 days out of 14. Good thing about this is that I get 6 days out of 14 off. Downside is that I do more hours (100 hours) in 1 week than most people do across 2 weeks. :-P
Because of all these changes, chances of getting hold of me at any time over the next few months are going to be very slim. Being a senior is basically the same as a supervisor, except I don’t have to supervise, just organise and keep track of everyone. Good thing about the security work is that everyone knows what they need to do and just does it. :-) So its more about coordination than anything else. And thats on top of still having to do my own patrols and the like as well.
This makes life very interesting for us all. From this moment on, things are going to be very interesting. While I’m working these day shifts, my blogging will be very late. When I move to the night shifts, my blogging will be almost non-existant as I try to keep up. 100 hours in a week is going to be tough.
On the bonus side of things, will make for a fair few decent stories worth telling. :-)
