New Google webhosting service
Want a free hosted web site of your own? Google Page Creator is now in beta at the Google Labs and if you already have a Google Account (anyone with Gmail or AdWords accounts basically) then you can sign up for this program.
I haven’t signed up for it yet. I am considering it as a possible place for a personal page though. But then, this blog really holds that title anyway. However, people wanting a free, ad-less web site might want to consider this service. No popups or enforced banners like many of the other free providers. *cough*Yahoo!Geocities*cough*
Basically, from what I can tell, its a full WYSIWYG AJAX editer in your browser, and you can create any sort of HTML you like. It’ll host up to 100meg. I’m guessing down the line they’ll offer options of upgrading to more. Probably leading on to full commercial web hosting in much the same way Yahoo! has done.
The naughty marketing nut in me says this would be a pretty funny place to start a link farm. ;-) Guaranteed indexing. ;-) Wonder how long till the spam arrives.
