Does anyone else find it ironic that the great-grandson of Lord Tennyson was stabbed in the back?

THE great-grandson of the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson has been found dead at his home in London with a knife in his neck, British newspapers reported today.

The naked body of Hallam Augustine Tennyson, 85, was reportedly discovered at the north London flat he shared with his partner, named only as Kevin, on Wednesday evening.

The tabloid Daily Mirror quoted police as saying the elderly author had been knifed in the throat with “great force” and may have been killed by a stranger he met at a bar and invited back to his home.

Herald Sun: Tennyson relative fatally stabbed [23dec05]

Given the tone of some of Alfred Tennyson’s poems, especially his Grail stories, I’m a little amused that he’s died in the manner of several characters in some of Alfred Tennyson’s poems. ;-)

No, I’m not amused he’s been murdered. Just the irony of his death.
