Creative Commons Needs your help. Badly.

If the goal hasn’t been met by New Years, Creative Commons could find itself being forced to shut down by the IRS. As Larry Lessig put it, without the donations Creative Commons loses its Tax Exempt status which will shut the organisation down. No ifs, no buts, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go directly to non-existance.

I don’t know about you, but I think we really need Creative Commons. Its the only way we can keep copyright in control of the people, not the massive corporates like Disney and TimeWarner that want to squash our rights to fair licensing.

Given its Christmas, how about even a small contribution. You can donate anywhere from $5 to $5000. If you don’t want to donate cash, how about buying a shirt or hoodie or other great swag?
