I’m not going to post as much over this weekend. I got so much to catch up on its not funny. Papers to read, books to study, housework and cleaning to do… The list goes on and on.

I’m exhausted and I’ve hardly done anything all week. Energy levels are at an extreme low as a result of absolutely useless sleep and my disgustingly poor dietary habits of late. I really need to start walking again. Daily. So this weekend is going to be the start of that again. Just around the block initially. I’ll start by going up the hill from my place so that the really long hill is all down. Even though the walk back up the hill to my place is a little steeper for the most part, its more like walking up really huge steps with a couple of short levels along the way. ;-) I call them “recovery” spots ;-)

I’m hoping to have my search engine aggregator code finished this weekend sometime too. Its not much. Ultimately just a proxy so that one search queries multiple search engines. I’m lazy and I’m broke. This will help me continue the lazy part. Pity it can’t do anything at all about the broke part.

I’ve rediscovered why I disliked Microsoft Access. OpenOffice.org Base really isn’t all that much different. Sure, its a fast way to build a small app, but I’m thinking I might just skip straight to the PHP version instead. ;-) It’d mean scrapping most of what I’ve done so far, but thats no major given I keep redoing all the database design anyway. Anyone know of a good app that can help me put together the table design and that will allow me to visually see the relationships between fields and tables? I never thought I’d say this, but the relationship builder in the old MS Access that showed the tables with arrows between them to the fields is kind of what I’m looking for, but more generic. I don’t want it to build the relationships, just let me visualise them easily.

At the moment I’m using Dia to do this. Its okay, but its kind of like using Visio to build an Access application. Possible, but a cludge.

I started using FreeMind today. Not only for the application I’m working on, but also for just general day to day stuff as well. I’m really useless when it comes to structuring my thoughts (as anyone that knows me can acknowledge) and so hopefully this will help me. Who knows, it might even allow me to start getting my posts together properly. :-) I really struggle to keep the context coherent on some posts (like the ICANN post).

Anyway… Its now 2:40am and I really need to try to get some sleep. Got a massive day ahead of me tomorrow.
